1. What Are NeoKidsPro's Telemedicine Guidelines
Telemedicine refers to the delivery of healthcare services using digital communication technologies — video calls and messaging — where the doctor and patient are not in the same physical location. NeoKidsPro's Telemedicine Guidelines govern how this works on our platform: services are provided through secure Google Meet video calls, with booking, confirmation, and follow-up handled via online booking, WhatsApp, and email.
2. Eligibility for Teleconsultation
- Paediatric patients (0–18 years) with a parent or legal guardian present during the consultation
- Follow-up consultations for existing patients of the clinic
- General paediatric queries — growth, development, fever management, nutrition, vaccination guidance
- Post-discharge monitoring and chronic condition management where physical examination is not immediately required
- Medical emergencies — breathing difficulty, seizures, loss of consciousness, severe allergic reactions, suspected poisoning
- Conditions requiring physical examination, investigations, or immediate procedural intervention
- Neonates under 28 days of age (except scheduled follow-ups under an existing care plan)
- Any case where the doctor determines in-person assessment is clinically necessary
For emergencies call +91 98798 91082 or proceed to the nearest paediatric emergency department.
3. How Teleconsultations Work
- Step 1 — Book: Select a doctor on our pediatric healthcare services page, choose a date and available slot, and pay the consultation fee through our secure Cashfree payment gateway
- Step 2 — Confirm: Receive a WhatsApp message and email with your appointment details and a Google Meet link
- Step 3 — Consult: Join the video call on time with the child present and a stable internet connection
- Step 4 — Prescription: If clinically appropriate, the doctor issues a digital prescription delivered as a PDF via WhatsApp and email
4. Prescriptions via Telemedicine
- Doctors may prescribe medicines via telemedicine only if clinically appropriate and safe without physical examination
- Prescriptions include the doctor's name, registration number, date, patient details, medication, dosage, and duration
- Schedule X drugs, psychotropic substances, and narcotics cannot be prescribed via telemedicine
- For first-time patients with acute undifferentiated conditions, the doctor may recommend an in-clinic visit instead
- All digital prescriptions carry the same legal validity as handwritten prescriptions under Indian law
5. Patient Responsibilities
- Provide accurate, complete, and honest information about the child's symptoms, history, allergies, and current medications
- Ensure the child is present during the video consultation where clinically relevant
- Have a stable internet connection and a device with a working camera and microphone
- Not record the consultation without the doctor's explicit consent
- Follow the prescribed treatment plan and contact the clinic if the child's condition does not improve or worsens
- Understand that telemedicine supplements but does not replace in-person medical care
6. Doctor Responsibilities
- All doctors verified for MCI / State Medical Council registration before onboarding
- Exercise clinical judgment to determine if telemedicine is appropriate for each case
- Refer to in-person care when telemedicine is insufficient for safe diagnosis or treatment
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with professional ethics and Indian law
- Issue prescriptions only when clinically justified and legally permissible via telemedicine
7. Technology & Privacy
- All video consultations conducted over Google Meet — end-to-end encrypted
- Consultation content is not recorded by NeoKidsPro without explicit disclosure and consent
- Patient data shared during consultations is governed by our Privacy Policy and Data Protection Policy
- Consult from a private, quiet space to maintain confidentiality
8. Limitations of Telemedicine
Telemedicine has inherent limitations — the doctor cannot perform a physical examination, auscultation, or direct observation of all clinical signs. NeoKidsPro and its associated doctors shall not be held liable for adverse outcomes resulting from incomplete or inaccurate information provided by the patient or guardian, or from failure to seek in-person care when advised to do so.
9. Regulatory Compliance Behind Our Telemedicine Guidelines

- Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 & National Medical Commission Act, 2020

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Telemedicine Guidelines
What are NeoKidsPro's Telemedicine Guidelines based on?
NeoKidsPro's Telemedicine Guidelines are based on India's Telemedicine Practice Guidelines, 2020, issued by the Board of Governors together with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, read alongside the National Medical Commission Act, 2019 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
Is an online pediatric consultation legally valid in India?
Yes. Teleconsultation by a Registered Medical Practitioner is legally recognised in India under the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines, 2020, and carries the same professional and legal standing as an in-person consultation when conducted within the scope of those guidelines.
